How do you tell the unheard stories of a landscape?
A submerged monitor with documentation of a recent prairie burn, a motion-triggered LED network illuminating the progress of native versus invasive species along a wooded trail and two hundred viewer-activated glowing shrines make up the three sites of this installation in a local park.
Involving graduate students from University of Michigan’s Department of Landscape Architecture and School of Music and funded by a GROCS grant to support research on the use of rich media in collaborative learning, the project sparks public dialogue around issues of ecology and land management.
